The presence of fly larvae \/ maggots in the body tissues of both animals and humans in medical terms is called&nbsp;<em>myasis<\/em>. The process of occurrence of this case is preceded by the presence of wounds that are left open. Wounds can be caused by friction of the cow&#039;s body with a cage, slashed with a sharp object, or bitten by a tick. The smell of fresh blood present on the wound will then attract the flies&nbsp;<em>Chrysomya bezziana<\/em>&nbsp;the female lays eggs on the wound. This egg has a strong adhesive power so it does not easily fall to the ground by the movement of cows. Within 12-24 hours, the fly eggs will hatch and grow into larvae, then move into the tissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Larval infestation&nbsp;<em>myasis<\/em>&nbsp;it does not cause specific clinical symptoms and varies greatly depending on the location of the wound. The stricken cow&nbsp;<em>myasis<\/em>&nbsp;will feel uncomfortable, decreased appetite, weakness, and fever so that decreased body weight and milk production, tissue damage, and anemia. This indirectly also has an impact on the decline in the selling price of cattle in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the information that you have conveyed, it is strongly suspected that the wounds that arise are caused by the presence of lice. Therefore, it is necessary to give lice medicine for a thorough treatment. Products that can be used include:&nbsp;<strong>Kututox<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Kututox-S<\/strong>&nbsp;as a sow remedy. Or give&nbsp;<strong>Kututox Oral<\/strong>&nbsp;by mixing into drinking water. Other medication options that can be used are&nbsp;<strong>Wormectin Injection<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>Wormectin Plus<\/strong>&nbsp;by injection under the skin (subcutaneous). To deal with cows that are already&nbsp;<em>myasis<\/em>, the breeder can perform some of the actions below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remove the larvae \/ maggots that are on the surface using tweezers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spray the wound\u00a0<em>myasis<\/em>\u00a0by using\u00a0<strong>Dicodine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the wound condition\u00a0<em>myasis<\/em>\u00a0it has been accompanied by pus, which means that there has been a secondary infection by bacteria, parasites or other microorganisms.
