Environmental characteristics in the Highlands with low temperatures and high humidity is a challenge for farmers, especially in the maintenance phase brooding period,. We must keep the temperature and humidity in the cage stable according to the needs of the chicken so that the chicken will feel comfortable.
When the ambient temperature is low, the first thing we need to consider is the suitability of the number of heaters with the chicken population. Because if the amount of heating is not as needed, of course, the heat produced will also not be maximized. Heating Infrared Gas Brooder Medion (IGM) can heat 750-1000 chickens for each unit, while the heater Super Saver can heat up to 10,000 heads. Once we are sure that the number of heaters in the cage is appropriate, then the next thing to consider is the heating setting. To generate maximum heat, the regulator IGM can we setting in numbers 6-8. There are several other ways commonly done by farmers to optimize the heat from IGM, one of them is by joining hoses from two 12 kg gas cylinders and connecting them with 4 pieces IGM.
