Poultry layer I have been diagnosed with IB disease. What I want to ask is the following :
- Can I get vaccinated with the IB or ND – IB vaccine in this case?
- Is it possible to do rolling drug Trimezyn with Neo Meditril?
Answer :
Dear. Mr. Dwi Susanto, thank you for the question. Here's an explanation for your question :
- Infectious Bronchitis (IB) is the fastest infectious disease among other poultry diseases. Incubation period IB disease between 18-36 hours. IB disease is contagious in a very short time. Within 2-3 days most or all of the chickens in one cage are immediately infected. The results of revaccination depend on the degree of malignancy of the invading virus, morbidity and mortality. Because the incubation period of IB disease is very short and very fast transmission with high morbidity, the success rate of revaccination (emergency vaccination) in IB cases will not be optimal.
If there is a case of IB, the effort that can be done in chickens that have been attacked is to make the chicken's body condition quickly improve and stimulate their appetite by giving Fortevit and preventing secondary infection with Therapy, Doxyvet or Neo Meditril. Revaccination (especially in chickens layer) is carried out after the chicken's health condition improves. Check the IB vaccination schedule in another cage nearby. If there is data on the results of serological tests as a support that the results are close to protective standards, it is recommended to carry out revaccination. If there are no serological data, it is advisable to revaccinate taking into account the duration of the last post-vaccination and the type of IB vaccine used (active/ inactivated).
Monitoring antibodies need to be taken to determine the success of vaccination and to monitor the IB antibody titer during the production period. From routine examination of the antibody titer will get a picture baseline titer (basic titer) are safe for the farm. If there is a difference in the size of the image (baseline titer), then this can be an early warning of the condition of the chicken. To determine the success of vaccination IB antibody titer examination can be done 2-3 weeks post vaccination (active vaccine) or 3-4 weeks post vaccination (inactivated vaccine). An examination to monitor the IB antibody titer during production is carried out at least once every 1 month. From the examination of the IB antibody titer, a picture of the level of immunity in the chicken's body will be known. - Kombinasi antibiotik yang terkandung dalam Trymezyn termasuk dalam golongan Sulfonamid dan Diaminopirimidin, sedangkan Neo Meditril termasuk dalam golongan Fluoroquinolon. Because different types of antibiotics are allowed to do rolling antibiotics with a record of the correct dosage and treatment is carried out thoroughly. Rolling antibiotics are given
- antibiotics of different groups every 3-4 times the period of treatment aimed at overcoming drug resistance. Antibiotic resistance is a condition of increased resistance of bacteria to the action of certain antibiotics. As a result, the bacteria become insensitive and larger doses of antibiotics are needed to eradicate the bacteria.
The first antibiotic resistance occurs as a result of inappropriate dosing, improper selection of antibiotics and incomplete treatment. The second cause, because antibiotics of the same group are used constantly. And the third cause comes from the bacteria themselves, for example due to bacteria having genetic mutations, enzymes and receptor changes in the body of the bacteria.
The right solution to overcome resistance is to combine drugs synergistically, and the most important thing is to do rolling antibiotics. For example, Table 1, rolling antibiotics can be done by giving antibiotics in different columns (I – V) based on the class of antibiotics, rolling antibiotics should be based on the class of antibiotics, not from brand antibiotics. If it is replaced only brand but the class of antibiotics is still the same so antibiotic resistance is still possible to occur.
