As a fighting chicken hobbyist, it is familiar with the term feather loss or often also called Moult. Moulting is a process of changing feathers in fighting chickens.
Chickens molt for the first time around the age of 19 months. The next hair change occurs longer, namely 10 months or 1 year later. Usually the time of molting in fighting chickens occurs about 3-6 months. The length of the molting period can be influenced by several factors. Such as the care taken, the nutrition given, and the actions taken so that the process of changing feathers is quickly completed. Chickens that are in the process of molting need extra care.

To shorten the molting period, several things can be done, among others:

Provide A Special Cage
Special cages are intended for insulating cages so that chickens that are undergoing the process of molting feel comfortable and are not disturbed by other chickens.
Special Care
The treatment given is certainly adjusted to the condition of the chicken. In general Moult chickens will experience physical weakness so that heavy activity can be stopped. The chicken does not need to be done enough umbaran light activities to relax the muscles such as running or light gymnastics because Moult chicken will be a lot of silence. Be careful when handling chickens because chickens become more sensitive and feel pain when the growing feathers are touched. It should also be noted that in young feathers they should not be damaged, especially on the wings. Because the wing feathers will affect the chicken punch.

Nutritious Feeding
Feed is a source of energy and growth. Although chickens that are undergoing molting have more dian, it does not mean that the daily feed given is not considered. The feed given must be in accordance with the nutritional needs of chickens. The feed needs to be high in protein, minerals and vitamins to improve the physical condition of the chickens. If you pay attention to chickens that are undergoing molting, their muscles become weaker and sometimes weight loss occurs.
Supplement Administration
During the Moult period, the need for protein and multivitamins increases. Lack or imbalance of protein and multivitamin intake can result in large losses in the molting period. To meet these needs, chickens need to get special supplements to accelerate the growth of feathers. In addition to accelerating the growth of hair, the provision of supplements also aims to make the hair dense body back. The content of protein and multivitamins is also beneficial to increase stamina and increase chicken growth. As supplements that we have known is Solvit.

To shorten the period of molting in fighting chickens, more attention and tenacity are needed. After the Moult period, chickens can be retrained. But it should be noted if the exercises are done gradually or warm up to several days. This is so that the chicken is not stressed and maintain conditions so as not to drop.
