H5N1 is a subtype of Avian Influenza included in the HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) group. This term is becoming more and more frequently heard as news regarding the spread of AI outbreaks in various regions of the world increases. In addition, the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) warns that the H5N1 virus tends to become a zoonotic infection, which can potentially spread to humans.

Based on the results of surveillance and tests conducted by the Medion team in 2022, it was found that the AI ​​virus isolate H5N1 clade 2.3.4.4b was first detected in duck farms in South Kalimantan. The data shows that the morbidity rate reaches 70-90% and 40-60% mortality within one week. It doesn’t stop there; the Medion team has continued monitoring events in the field to date. Through the data collected, the Medion team compiled educational materials for farmers to be more alert and ready to face AI attacks. The material was delivered by drh.
