In order to increase knowledge and insight related to the latest poultry diseases, Medion held an educational seminar for farmers on Wednesday, 22nd November 2023 at Hotel Adimulia Medan. This activity was attended by 101 participants from various regions, including Medan, Kisaran, Pantai Labu, and Brahrang.
On this occasion, Medion presented two main topics, namely the update of Avian Influenza (AI) disease and the use of herbs as alternative products in facing the challenges of the poultry world. The first topic was presented by Melina Jonas (Animal Health Director) about “Latest AI Alert”. While the second topic on “Optimizing Production with Standardized Herbs” was delivered by drh. Budi Purwanto (Technical Education & Consultation Senior Manager).
The presentation of the first material began with a discussion of conditions and facts in the field regarding viral diseases in Indonesia, including one of them Avian Influenza (AI). This material also explains the development and distribution of AI cases in Indonesia until 2023. In addition, it also discussed the discovery of AI H5N1 Clade 2.3.4.4b in Indonesia through the Surveillance and Case Tracing program (Outbreak Investigation) by the Medion team. After participants gained an understanding of the disease, they were then given an explanation of strategies to control AI cases in poultry farms.
While the second material explains the use of standardized herbs as an alternative in facing the challenges of the poultry world. This material explains that standardized herbal products have been clinically proven to have a variety of benefits. The advantages of herbal products include no residue, minimum resistance effect, and minimum side effects. In addition, participants were also given alternative choices of herbal products to optimize the growth and production of poultry.
