Here are some diseases that can cause white spots in the oral cavity of chickens :
1. Wet PoxWet Pox)
Pox or smallpox caused by a virus fowl pox. There are 2 forms of smallpox in chickens, namely wet smallpox and dry smallpox. In the wet form, small white and yellowish bumps will be found on the oral mucosa, laryng, throat, and esophagus so that chickens have difficulty breathing and decreased appetite. Treatment that can be done is to prevent secondary infection by administering antibiotics such as Medoxy LA, Proxan-S, Doctril, or Neo Meditril. Can also be given vitamin supplementation such as Vita Stress. In addition, do spray the cage with Medisep or Neo Antisep 2-3 times a week. While prevention can be done by vaccination using Medivac Pox after the chicken is 10 weeks old or at least 2-3 weeks before the age of smallpox in the previous maintenance period.
2. Mycotoxicosis
Mycotoxicosis, which is a disease caused by fungal toxins/toxins. Types of toxins that manifest symptoms ulcer (Thrush) in the oral cavity is the T2 toxin. This toxin causes yellowish-white ulcers on the inside of the edges of the beak, the walls of the lower oral cavity, and the esophagus. 3. Candidiasis
Candidiasis is a disease caused by a fungal infection Candida albicans which contaminates the feed. This disease can occur in chickens under immunosuppressive conditions or as a result of prolonged administration of antibiotics, as well as in the presence of a secondary bacterial, viral infection, as well as in a state of vitamin A deficiency. The most commonly seen symptom is the appearance of white plaque on the oral mucosa, cache, proventriculus, and ventricle.
